After months of recurring itch and red spot, we decided to take a plunge into getting Cola to do a skin allergy test. We want to once and for all determined what has caused Cola skin problem. The last time when we leave him at the dog sitter during CNY, he came back in a terrible state. Flakes all over his face and the eye swollen. Poor boy...
The test is call Intradermal Skin Allergy Test, or to common man like me, just ...allergy test. We brought him to a vet in Sunset Way in the morning of 14 April 2007. And was told to come back at 4pm. Since it was a Saturday, we went home and do our dreaded house chores, thinking that the vet will call when Cola was ready. But no call came, so we went down at about 5:30pm, and to our horror the vet was closed ! and Cola was still inside ! After some frantic calls, fortunately some nurse came back and get Cola out for us, what a relief ! I thought Cola will look ugly after the test, but he surprisingly looked very "punky" with the shaved patch, hee hee. We later got the test results and it showed Cola is allergic to dustmite, moth and black ants. So gotta do more house hold chores to make sure our place is really clean now.
I am fortunate that I am not allergic to any food or environmental factors. I do not get into hives or itch, and can practically ate anything without problem.
But I realized I may be allergic to the World. When we encountered temptation of money or power that the World will offer, do we not getting itchy in our heart to wanted to acquired those things, even it means we will sacrifice our relationship with Jesus and our loved one ?
For Cola, the cure for his allergy is steroids and Immunotherapy. For us, the cure is the Word of God.."Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will" Roman 12:2
