A Stroll in Nanjing Road

Dear Little Bulldog,
I thought I want to share with you my only leisure time that I have during my stay in Shanghai.
I have chosen to stay in Equatorial Hotel from James recommendation. Marriot has been good, but I wanted to stay nearer to a tourist area where I can at least have some leisure time. Equatorial is located near the JingAn(靜安)area where the famous Nanjing Road (南京路)is. I have decided to take an evening off from James, and venture out by myself right after I return from Shijiazhuang.
JingAn has a very upmarket Jiuguang (久光)Shopping Center, where all imported goods are 20-30% more expensive than where I come from. Nothing too interesting. The JingAn Temple is quite nice, but a little too artificial. After taking a short walk, I realize this is not the actual world famous Nanjing East Road. I decided to take a subway train to the Nanjing Walking Street (南京步行街), which is 3 stops away. Nothing much to buy there though, only lots of neon lightings and more expensive shopping centers. One of the most unpleasant experience that I had was the constant harassment by men and women who will just pop up behind you and offering their KTV services. Maybe I look too much like a tourist. Decided that this place is not for me, so I head straight to the train station and went back to my hotel.
The pictures may look pretty, but it is really not a pleasant place to be.
